Police hunt driver of stolen car who fled after early hours Doncaster road smash

Police in Doncaster are hunting the driver of a stolen car who fled after smashing into a parked vehicle in an early hours crash.

At around 12.30am this morning, police say that a vehicle failed to stop for police in the Church Balk area of Edenthorpe.

The vehicle, a Vauxhall Insignia which is suspected to have been stolen, was found abandoned a short time later at 12.35am on Jefferson Avenue, Clay Lane, about a mile away.

The Vauxhall had collided with a parked Peugeot 208, causing damage to its rear.

The occupant of the Vauxhall fled the scene prior to police arrival and enquiries are ongoing to identify them.

The owner of the damaged car is appealing for anyone in Jefferson Avenue with CCTV of the smash to come forward.
