Pictures show police at scene of Doncaster murder investigation today

Two police vans and a patrol car remained parked on Dodsworth Street today as officers carried out their investigations at the scene of the incident, just outside the centre of the town.

Officers said a 28-year-old's woman’s body was discovered by police when they were called to a property on Main Street, Mexborough, at about 1.50pm yesterday. But the police presence today appeared to be on Dodsworth Street, a narrow cul-de-sac just off Main Steet.

Today, police remained at the property, with marked police van parked close the the junction, opposite a patrol car, outside which stood a single officer. Further down the road, on the same side of the terraced residential street as the patrol car, was a second marked police van.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The men, aged 27 and 33, were arrested at the scene and remained in custody this morning.

South Yorkshire Police said they were working to establish how the woman died.

The property was sealed off and under police guard yesterday while crime scene examination work was carried out as well as enquiries in the local community.

The cause of death has not yet been revealed.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the woman's death and a cordon remains in place at the scene while officers continue their work.”
