The plants were part of a major piece of flytipping which can be seen in this picture, taken by a local resident who was upset to see the scale of what had been dumped.

The man, who was saw the ditched rubbish, noticed the flytipping when he was out jogging near Tickhill, and called on anyone who saw who ditched it to contact the police.

He said: “Apparently dumped over the weekend, much of it is used cannabis plants. They obviously needed a truck to carry this lot - in fact the tracks are still visible.”

The flytipping was in a field off Wellingley Lane, Tickhill, half a mile from the A60.

He added: “I don’t think there is more flytipping in Tickhill than in any other rural area, but it was just the size of the quantity of items that had been ditched.”
