Nearly 500 cannabis plants seized in raid on secret Doncaster drugs farm

A man has been arrested and hundreds of cannabis plants uncovered as a result of a police raid on a house in Hexthorpe, Doncaster.

Officers entered the terraced house on Kirk Street on Monday, using a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act. Nearly 500 cannabis plants were seized in the raid.

PCSO Emma Langstaff said: “One male was arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and 482 plants of varying maturity were seized.

"The male was subsequently charged and remanded to appear at Doncaster Magistrates Court this morning.”

Spansyke Street saw a number of raids carried out last week, and residents had complained about recent power cuts in the area which they suspected were linked to the problem.
