Manhunt continues for killer after body is found in Doncaster

A manhunt is continuing today for a killer wanted over the death of a man in Doncaster.

Jerry Appicella, aged 51, was found dead in his home in Craganour Place, Denaby Main, on Sunday, December 15, after South Yorkshire Police received calls of concern for his welfare.

His death is being treated as murder and detectives want to hear from anyone who witnessed an incident he was involved in near to the Go Local Shop in Hickleton Street, Denaby, on Tuesday, December 4.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Simon Palmer, said he does not want to release details of the nature of that incident.

He said he also does not want to reveal the cause of death.

But he said Mr Appicella was the victim of a ‘targeted attack’ and he does not believe there is a risk to the wider community.
