Man threatened post office worker with two knives during Doncaster robbery

Detectives investigating the robbery at the post office inside Spar on Sandringham Road, Intake, have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe could hold vital information about the incident on Friday, January 31.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Shortly before 7am, the Post Office, which is also a Spar, had just opened.

“It is understood that an unknown man then entered the shop and asked for tobacco.

“As the shop assistant turned their back, the man is reported to have pulled out two knives from inside his jacket and threatened a member of staff while demanding money from the till.“Staff managed to raise the alarm by pressing the panic button, which alerted police.

“However, the man had already left the store with £20 and the tobacco.”

The robber was 50-60 years old.
