Man and woman accused of attempted murder over Doncaster shootings

A man and woman are due in court today accused of attempted murder after a spate of shootings in Doncaster.

Joe Edward Roberts, aged 20 and Nicola Butler, 44, both of Windmill Avenue, Doncaster, are set to appear at Sheffield Crown Court.

Roberts is charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, arson with intent to endanger life and violent disorder.

Butler is charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The charges relate to shootings in Conisbrough between Saturday, November 7 and Monday, November 9 last year.

Police were deployed to reports of firearm discharges in the Park Road, Daylands Avenue and March Vale Rise areas of Conisbrough.

A 19-year-old man was injured in the Daylands Avenue incident and two men, aged 47 and 22, were injured in the March Vale Rise shooting.
