Judge tells Doncaster dangerous driver that he faces possible jail term

A judge has told a motorist who has admitted dangerous driving that he faces a possible custodial sentence.

Sheffield Crown Court heard on January 21 how Robert Davies, aged 21, of Large Square, Stainforth, Doncaster, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit van dangerously on Doncaster Road in February, 2019.Edward Moss, defending, applied for a probation service report to be considered before sentencing.Judge Michael Slater told Davies: “You have pleaded guilty to this offence of dangerous driving.“The next step in the process is for you to be sentenced for it and that will take place on February 18.”Davies was released on bail and his case was adjourned to allow the probation service to prepare a pre-sentence report before sentencing on February 18.Judge Slater told Davies there would be no promises about how the sentencing judge would deal with him and all options would remain open including immediate custody.
