“Thank you to everyone who has shared our posts far and wide, it would not have been possible without all of you. It has restored our faith in humanity after such a cruel incident.

“A huge thank you to South Yorkshire Police who found her tonight.

“We have just been to collect her and bring her back home.

“We are so lucky that Lily is home and safe.

“During our search we became aware of how many dogs are stolen and we are absolutely horrified. We truly hope that other owners are as lucky as us and get their beloved pets back.

“Once again, thank you to everyone who has helped us find Lily.”

South Yorkshire Police has been contacted.
