Hundreds of cannabis plants found after someone claimed to be trapped in a Doncaster town centre building

A hoax call to the fire brigade resulted in a great find for Doncaster police last night.

At about 7pm the fire service received a call from someone saying they were trapped on the third floor of a Hall Gate building.

Fire crews attended and discovered a cannabis cultivation of between 400-500 plants.

The electrics had been bypassed which made the building unsafe.

Police were soon on scene and secured the property.

After a search no-one was found to be in the property, let alone trapped.
