Girl aged 12 injured as driver 'gets out of car, assaults her, and drives off' on Doncaster street

A girl aged just 12 was injured in a reported Doncaster street assault last night, after a man got out of a car and attacked her before driving off.

Police were called out following the report of the incident on Wordsworth Avenue, Balby, last night, receiving a call at around 9pm.

A statement from South Yorkshire Police said today: “It is reported that a 12-year-old girl was walking in Wordsworth Avenue when a man driving a white BMW pulled up, exited his vehicle and assaulted her by pushing her to the floor, causing her to suffer minor injuries.

“The man then drove away from the scene.

“An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing to find the man responsible.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to call 101 quoting incident number 928 of May 13.
