Four drugs dens discovered in one day after police blitz Doncaster housing estate
Police have revealed they have discovered four drugs dens and made a number of arrests after a blitz on a Doncaster suburb.
Police officers flooded Hexthorpe this morning and smashed a number of drugs factories in the Abbott Street, Spansyke Street and Stoneclose Avenue areas.
It is the latest in a series of drugs raids on properties in the area in the last few months with thousands of pounds of drugs seized.
Residents have reported heavy police activity in the area throughout the day as police raided a number of properties in the multi-agency operation.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Team has carried out a day of action across Hexthorpe today and carried our numerous warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
“Four cannabis cultivations have been discovered at a number of premises.”
The spokesman added that the force was awaiting the full results of today’s operation and further details would be released in due course.
