Police were called to Argyll Avenue in Intake yesterday afternoon following reports of a number of dogs fighting.
Officers arrived at the scene and seized five dogs under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
One person was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer and remains in police custody, a spokesman said.
