Eckington man caught drunk behind the wheel in Doncaster

An Eckington man has been given unpaid work after he was caught drunk behind the wheel while banned from driving, court records show.

Gregg Joe Tyler was caught driving his Volkswagen Passat in Ashton Lane, Braithwell, Doncaster, on November 16 last year.

Records show that the 28-year old was in collision with another vehicle before fleeing the scene of the accident.

Tyler, of Queen Street, Eckington, Sheffield, appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on September 24, where he admitted driving whilst disqualified, leaving the scene of an accident, driving without insurance and drink driving.

When breathalysed, Tyler blew 180mg of alcohol to 100ml of breath, when the legal limit is 35mg.

He was ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work and 10 rehabilitation activity.

Tyler was banned from driving for a further 40 months. by magistrates when he appeared before the court.

He must also pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £90 victim surcharge.
