Drivers could face action after police clock speeding cars in operation on Doncaster street today

Drivers are to have their cases referred to the South Yorkshire Camera Safety Partnership after being spotted speeding in a police operation in Doncaster today.

Police Community Support Officers carried out a mobile speed gun operation today on Wentworth Road, Wheatley, near Doncaster Royal Infirary, after officers received complaints from local residents about speeding vehicles in the area.

PCSO David Twigg said: “At this time, 12 vehicles were witnessed travelling over the legal speed limit at this location. As a result of this operation, the vehicles identified as travelling over the legal limit will be referred over to the Camera Safety Partnership.

“Local Police Community Support Officers will be conducting further such operations in the near future. If you have any concerns regarding speeding vehicles in your area, please contact us on 101.”
