Dopey Doncaster thief in Harry Potter dressing gown films himself nicking CCTV camera
This is the moment a dopey Doncaster thief cloaked in a Harry Potter dressing gown was filmed stealing a CCTV camera.
The clip shows the thief clambering up the outside of a Doncaster business to swipe the firm’s security camera.
But unlike the famous boy wizard, the clueless crook didn’t appear to possess many magical skills – being caught squarely by the camera before he made off with it.
Social media firm Be My Social, the firm targeted in the attack earlier this week, has shared footage of the incident on Facebook – and urged people to step forward with info about the man who was dressed head to foot in a black, amber and gold dressing gown, adorned with the Harry Potter ‘HP’ logo.
Sharing a tongue in cheek appeal, a spokesman for the marketing firm, which is based in Priory Place said: “Wanted by Azkaban – have you seen this wizard?
“In the early hours of May 12, a misguided young wizard committed the crime of theft in Doncaster town centre.
“Luckily, the enchanted item managed to betray this member of Gryffindor, and the Dementors are in full pursuit.
“If you have any information as to the whereabouts of our stolen security camera, please notify the ministry by calling 101.”
Kirsty Woods of Be My Social said: “It's not very nice when someone steals from you, and we were concerned that he might be going door to door - targeting our neighbours too,
"As a creative agency, we decided to use our skills to make the most of his unusual outfit, and help the police catch him as soon as possible.”
