Doncaster woman ordered to pay compensation after shoplifting spree in the town

A Doncaster woman who stole items from three separate stores in the town has been ordered to pay compensation by magistrates.

Amy Louise Betts appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 7, where she admitted three counts of shoplifting.

Court records show that Betts, 38, of Beckett Road, Wheatley, entered Morrisons in the town on March 7 and stole vodka, whisky and bourbon valued at £60.

On August 15, Betts entered a Boots store in Doncaster and stole candles valued at £53.

And on August 24, she entered the One Stop store, in Morley Road, Wheatley, and stole a range of items including wash tablets, baby milk, a bottle of milk and Lambrini, valued at £36.15.

She was ordered to pay a total of £86.15 to two of the stores, with no separate penalty being awarded for the theft from Boots.

No costs or other financial penalties were awarded.
