Doncaster man is jailed for spate of shop thefts and dishonesty offences

A Doncaster man has been jailed following a spate of thefts and dishonesty offences in the town and surrounding area, court records show.

Colin Turner, 50, of Carr Hill Court, Doncaster, appeared before magistrates in the town on September 30 where he admitted the offences.

Records show that onJune 29, Turner used a stolen bank card on two separate occasions, purchasing items to the value of £45 and £29.01.

On May 13, Turner entered the Tesco store, in Gateford Road, Worksop, where he stole Pokemon cards to the value of £35, and returned to the store the following day and stole nicotine chewing gum to the value of £110.

On February 13, Turner entered a Sainsbury’s store in Doncaster and stole alcohol to the value of £110 and two electric shavers, valued at £280, on June 10, from Boots.

He was jailed for a total of 34 weeks when he appeared before the court and must pay £421 in compensation on his release.
