Doncaster man jailed for assaulting former partner

A Doncaster man has been jailed after he assaulted his partner in an unprovoked attack, court records show.

Jack Smith, 28, of Glyn Avenue, Doncaster had denied assaulting the woman on two occasions in March 2019 but was found guilty after a trial, records for Doncaster Magistrates’ Court show.

He appeared back before the court on September 24 where he was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison and ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

Magistrates also issued a two-year restraining order, forbidding Smith from contacting the woman.
