Doncaster man given unpaid work for failing to give a breath test when pulled over on suspicion of drink driving

A Doncaster man has been given a community order after he failed to give a breath test to police when he was stopped on the suspicion of drink driving, court records show.

Adam David Chorlton, 25, of Princess Avenue, Stainforth, Doncaster was pulled over on October 24 and failed to provide a reading on request.

Chorlton appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on December 22 where he admitted the offence.

Magistrates gave him a 12-month community order to include 80 hours of unpaid work, which must be completed by December next year.

He was also banned from driving for a total of 17 months, but magistrates gave him the opportunity to reduce the disqualification by a total of 129 days if he successfully completes a recognised drink driver awareness course by November 11, 2021.

Magistrates also ordered him to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £95 victim surcharge - a charge levelled at every defendant to help fund victim services.
