A Doncaster man armed with a knife has been arrested after a break-in at a building site.

Nottinghamshire Police ffficers were called to a site in Mansfield Road, Arnold, shortly before 9pm last Thursday evening after three mechanical diggers were interfered with.

Officers rushed to the scene and chased down a suspect on nearby Hambleton Road.

Peter Wilson, aged 22, of Kirkhouse Green Road, Doncaster, has now been charged with vehicle interference and possession of a bladed article.

He was released on conditional bail and is due to attend Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 16 November.

Sergeant Alison Bryan, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We treat these kind of reports extremely seriously and immediately dispatched officers to the scene.

"I am pleased we have now been able to charge a suspect and our investigation continues.”
