Doncaster drink driver tried to escape police by going the wrong way round a roundabout and with a wheel missing

A dangerous driver was caught speeding, going the wrong way round a roundabout and travelling on three wheels.

SYP Operational Support officers reported seeing this BMW just after midnight last Friday in Balby, when it made a few bizarre manoeuvres.

The police put the blues and twos on, but the car made off.

A spokesman said: “The driver made some particularly poor decisions following this, which included going the wrong way round a roundabout and travelling at very high speed. Soon after ambition outweighed ability and damage was caused to the wheel of the car, but even that didn't stop him.

“The wheel eventually came off, literally, but even that didn't stop him and he continued towards Tickhill on three wheels with sparks and debris flying behind him.”

The car eventually crashed into the kerb and a parked car.

The 31-year-old male from Doncaster has been charged with failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving whilst over the prescribed limit.
