Officers had tracked the three suspects on Sunday, who were believed to have taken on a car from outside a house in Armthorpe in a so-called ‘two in one’ burglary, where thieves break into a property and take the keys to a car.

They pursued them to Tickhill, where the dog chased them after they tried to escape.

"Three suspects were detained after trying to run from officers but one of our Police Dogs was on hand to ensure they did not get away, Unfortunately, one of the suspects was bitten during the incident.”
