Complaints rise in Doncaster over people breaking Covid 19 restrictions

The increase in reported Covid cases in many parts of the country has led to restrictions we are all required to adhere to.

Despite this, we have seen an increase in complaints about non-compliance and I ask all readers to act responsibility to protect yourselves, your family and friends.

In the meantime, we continue with business as usual.

Over the past month we have raided or visited addresses where drugs were found. These included a house on Brockhole Close, Cantley, Tudor Road at Intake and Sheardown Street at Hexthorpe.

PCSOs identified two men in a car on Cranbrook Road, Wheatley, who appeared suspicious. The car was searched and a container full of powder suspected of being drugs was found. Both men were arrested.

We were also called when an alarm went off at the Lidl shop on Thorne Road. Officers heard a noise outside, and arrested a man with items from the store. At another commercial premise, officers found a man on the roof of the Sainsbury's store in Intake and his son in a nearby garden. A third male was identified after he left his phone at the scene and arrested a short time later.

We also discovered a cannabis factory when officers attended the potential arson of two cars on Chequer Avenue. They were alerted to a neighbour dispute nearby and forced entry to a house where a male had injured his arm after forcing entry to his neighbour’s house to remonstrate with him.

He required a trip to DRI for medical treatment and later a trip to our cells after a small cannabis set up was discovered.

A car was stopped with a stinger on October 1 after failing to stop, carrying on for some time despite losing a tyre. It was eventually abandoned at Lakeside and three men fled before being detained. They all sustained hand injuries climbing a fence in an escape bid.

We have also carried out a number of speed awareness operations.
