Community order for Doncaster man caught in possession of prescription-only epilepsy drugs

A Doncaster man has been given a community order after being caught with drugs in the town, court records show.

Paul Eric Corbett, 42, of High Hazel, Moorends, Doncaster, appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court, on September 25 where he admitted the offences.

Records show that on January 30 this year, Corbett was found to be in possession of 20 gabapentin tablets - a prescription-only epilepsy drug which also produces feelings of calmness and euphoria when taken illegally.

The drug is designated a Class C illegal drug if taken without a medical prescription.

Records also show that on the same date, Corbett was caught in possession of two pregabalin tablets - another epilepsy drug which is also a Class C banned substance.

Magistrates gave Corbett a 12-month community order to include a total of 10 rehabilitation activity days.

He was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £90 victim surcharge and magistrates ordered the drugs to be forfeited and destroyed.
