Bungled ram raid ends in arrests in Doncaster this morning

Two men fled from a shop on Hayfield Lane, in Auckley, at around 12.45am today, after trying to drive a van through its doors to get in.

Police say the suspected thieves failed to get into the shop and left the scene of the incident today in a car, which Doncaster officers tried to stop a short time later.

The suspects tried to escape from them, but with support from traffic officers, they pursued the car for a short time before it eventually stopped, said police.

Two men in the car were arrested on suspicion of burglary, it was confirmed this morning.

A third man who had been observed on CCTV remains outstanding, said officers.
