'Break up Covid parties instead,' angry passenger tells police as van seized in Doncaster

A passenger in an uninsured van told police they should be ‘breaking up Covid parties’ after seizing the vehicle in Doncaster.

Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Policing Team made the swoop in Balby yesterday.

A spokesman said: “The van was stopped and seized in Balby after the driver was found to not be insured on the vehicle.

"He didn't seem too surprised when we told him that we would be taking the van off him.

"His passenger wondered if why we didn't have anything better to do like "breaking up COVID parties"

"I guess we can't please everyone.

"The van is off to the recovery yard and the driver will be receiving a ticket or the option of a court date in the near future.”
