Body of man in his 40s discovered at address in Doncaster village

The body of a man in his 40s was discovered by emergency services at an address in a Doncaster village on Sunday.

South Yorkshire Police said they were called to an address on Ashburton Close in Adwick le Street at 5.19pm on August 23 to reports of concern for a man’s safety.

On arrival, the body of a man in his 40s was found at the property, police said. A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police confirmed his death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.

The man has yet to be formally identified.

One neighbour, who did not want to be named, said another neighbour called the police when her knocks at his door went unanswered after the man was seen through the window lying on a bed.

She said: “He was lovely – a really nice bloke. I’m traumatised.”
