Arrests made after 'shots fired' at Doncaster home

Two men have been arrested after shots were fired at a house in Doncaster.

The incident happened in the Adwick-Le-Street area of the town in the early hours of Wednesday, January 8.

At about 2.35am, it is reported that a dark coloured estate car travelled along Lutterworth Drive.

The vehicle stopped outside of a property before a weapon was fired at an address.

Damage was caused to a car on the drive as well as to the downstairs window of the property.

The occupants of the house, a couple and their young child, were at home at the time. Thankfully, they did not sustain any injuries.

Two Doncaster men, who are aged 31 and 20, were later arrested on Wednesday (January 15) on suspicion of firearms offences.

The 31-year-old man was also detained for unrelated drugs and driving offences.

They have since been bailed pending an investigation into the incident, South Yorkshire Police confirmed.

Detective Sergeant Lee Szedzielarz, the investigating officer on the case with South Yorkshire Police, said: “Enquiries are still underway to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and we continue to appeal for anyone with any information to come forward.
