Arrests after drug laced sweets, weapons and stolen goods seized at Doncaster house
Two men have been arrested after police uncovered a huge haul of cannabis laced sweets, drugs, weapons and stolen goods at a house in Doncaster.
Police in Balby seized the pair along with a stash of drugs designed to look like popular sweets and drinks.
A spokesman for Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Two men were arrested in Balby yesterday (Wednesday) after a drugs warrant was executed.
"A large quantity of, what we believe to be, cannabis laced sweets were seized from the address.
"Please be aware as at a glance they could easily be mistaken for your kids’ usual 10 pence mix.
"The men have been released under investigation while the items are forensically examined.”
Pictures released by police show packets emblazoned with Nerds branding, while another shows a bottle, understood to contain THC, with logos and branding of orange drink Fanta.
Police also recovered a quantity of what is believed to be controlled drugs, suspected stolen property and various weapons. Three vehicles were also seized from the address.
Nerds are a popular miniature sweet favoured by young children.
The arrests came on the same day that police confirmed that a house blaze which closed Balby Road for two days was started by a cannabis growing set up.
