Arrest made after 11 mile police chase through Doncaster

A man was finally arrested after leading police on a 11 mile chase from Mexborough to Carcroft.

It happened on Tuesday night (July 14) at about 10.22pm.

Officers from South Yorkshire Police began a pursuit of a Ford Transit flat back van on Greens Way in Mexborough after it failed to stop when asked.

Residents reported a high police presence.

Residents reported a ‘high police presence’ in the area including a helicopter circling overhead.

The pursuit ended on Borrowdale Close, Carcroft where one man was arrested for traffic offences.
