Officers went into the property on Littlemoor Lane, Balby, with a search warrant this morning, and 70 cannabis plants were seized in the operation..

Sgt Steve Roberts said: “The occupant of this address has been arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis, and was found to have been dangerously bypassing the electricity meter.

“He remains in police custody awaiting interview.

"A significant quantity of drugs has been seized and the electricity has now been made safe.”

It was one of two raids to seize drugs by officers in Doncaster today.

Two were arrested after a police swoop on a cannabis factory in Swinton Road, Mexborough, inside a former bingo hall.
