Areas of Doncaster cordoned off after suspects arrested for attempted murder following 'linked' assaults

A section of Hexthorpe Road at the junction with Stone Close Avenue in Hexthorpe is sealed off, alongside an area of grass outside Cusworth house as officers are still on the scene investigating a series of ‘serious’ assaults that took place this morning (December 12).
Two men aged 26 and 29 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody, after a 29-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following an assault on Urban Road at around 3.57am.

Hide AdThe victim is now said to be in a stable condition in hospital and officers have confirmed that two witnesses reported seeing two vehicles leaving the scene in Hexthorpe.
Around the same time, police received another sighting of a number of vehicles which had been abandoned on Greenfield Lane.
Shortly afterwards, at around 4.11am another 29-year-old man was found injured on Cleveland Street following an assault – after officers received a call about a disturbance in the area.
The victim was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Hide AdPolice have confirmed that there is no wider risk to the public but an investigation into the two alleged assaults which are believed to be linked is ongoing.
