Cricket: Conisbrough sunk by Wath | Tickhill saved by the weather

Jack Whitlam excelled with a contribution of 4-19 and Conisbrough were all out for just 86.

Wath’s victory was not gained easily despite skipper Rob Barlow opening with 25.

The hosts had seven wickets down when they passed Conisbrough’s score. Scott Lowe, Gary Strephan and Nathan Lovell each took two wickets.

Wath now sit fourth in the table, five points adrift of the promotion places.

Sprotbrough took advantage of the other team’s weather problems with an emphatic victory over Wakefield Thornes B at Field Lane to move into third place in Division One.

Wakefield batted first and opener Tom Marsden led the scoring with 31 in a total of 107 all out.

Jonathan Scaife came on at second change to rip the heart out of the Wakefield batting for a personal tally of 6-17.

Sprotbrough achieved their victory without losing a wicket as openers Gordon Laidlaw scored 35 not out and Rickard Belk helped himself to nine fours in achieving 52 not out.

Against Aston Hall B at Green Lane, Warmsworth’s dominant batting line-up were in difficulties at 147-8 when the weather intervened.

Only captain Rhys Mann produced a noteworthy innings of 50. Ian Davies had given them a few problems with 3-7.

Only two games were completed in Division Two and, at Park Road, Wath B closed the gap on the leaders by beating Worsbrough Bridge by 54 runs.

Wath batted first and opener Matt Burrows led the way with an excellent 49 in their total of 135 all out. Liam Levitt took 5-39.

Worsbrough crumbled to 81 all out in response with Stephen Johnson impressive with 5-27 and Jordan Shutt providing back-up with 4-14.

n The wet weather got Tickhill off the hook at Hallam in the ECB Yorkshire South Premier League.

Tickhill had been skittled out by Hallam for just 97.

The hosts were left frustrated at 19-0 when the heaven’s opened.
