A 16-year-old boy is to appear in court in connection with the riot at a hotel in South Yorkshire housing asylum seekers.

The teenager, who can’t be named for legal reasons, has been charged with violent disorder.

He is due to appear before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on 3 October.

Following the disorder at the Holiday Inn Express at Manvers on August 4, 89 people in total have now been charged with 60 sentenced for over a combined total of 120 years in prison.
