Commonwealth Games: Doncaster's Barry Middleton returns home with bronze medal
Doncaster hockey legend Barry Middleton had to settle for a bronze medal again at the Commonwealth Games.
England beat India in the third place play-off after losing to hosts Australia in the semi-finals.
Middleton, 34, was appearing at his fourth Commonwealth Games, having won bronze at Glasgow 2014.
During the tournament he moved onto 414 international appearances, moving to second in the all-time caps list.
He has also represented Great Britain at four Olympic Games, played for England in three World Cups and eight European Championships and been included in the International Hockey Federation’s All Stars team three times.
