'Come on, pull through:" Doncaster woman inspired to pen poem for Boris Johnson

The Prime Minister is currently in intensive care in hospital in London after his COVID-19 symptoms worsened and left him needing oxygen.

On hearing the news, Wheatley woman Lindsay Smith, a key worker who works for Sainsburys and Argos. was inspired to write a poem to aid Mr Johnson’s recovery, which she has asked to share with Free Press readers.

The Prime Minister was admited to St Thomas’ Hospital in London on Sunday as a precaution after persistent coronavirus symptoms.

Yesterday, he tweeted that he was in good spirits, but as the day progressed, it emerged that he had been using oxygen to help him breathe.

Early yesterday evening, it was confirmed that the decision had been taken to move Mr Johnson, 55, to intensive care because of his worsening symptoms.

A Downing Street spokesman said that the PM was still conscious but had been moved closer to a ventilator in case it was needed to help him with his breathing.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has taken temporary control.
