“We need the whole town to support us, we have some fantastic games coming to Doncaster, especially with the likes of Toulouse visiting us,” said Hall.

“It is a vital time of the season for us, we finished fourth at the end of the regular season and hopefully now we can slip through and get promoted back to the Championship.”

The Dons have launched a Super 8s season ticket enabling fans to watch the four home games for the price of three.

Thornton said: “The Super 8s is something we are really excited about and something we are really looking forward to getting underway.

“The Super 8s season ticket is a fantastic gesture from the club, it has been a long hard season for people in unfamiliar scenarios playing different teams.

“We have got where we want to be by finishing in the top four, that is our first hurdle over.

“We now need to finish as high as we can ahead of the play-offs and hopefully the people of Doncaster will get right behind us.”
