Classic thriler play coming to Doncaster's Little Theatre
The production has played around the world and was also turned into a film
A classic thriller play which has been performed all over the globe is coming to Doncaster.
Breakaleg Productions is proud to announce the revival of Peter Colley’s iconic thriller I’ll Be Back Before Midnight — 11 years after it was first brought to the stage in Barnsley.
A spokesperson said: “We’re a fully self‑funded, community‑driven theatre company built from the ground up by local people.
“No grants. No big sponsors. Just passion, determination, and ticket sales keeping us alive.
“This production is a huge moment for us — a celebration of creativity, commitment, and the belief that local theatre deserves a place at the heart of South Yorkshire.
“If you love live performance, suspense, and supporting independent arts, this one’s for you.”
The play tells the story of Jan, a young wife recovering from a nervous disorder.
She and her husband Greg rent a remote cabin from an odd farmer who delights in telling gruesome ghost stories.
Then Greg’s strange sister Laura arrives, and all manner of frightening events occur.
What happens to fragile Jan as bodies appear and disappear gives this classic thriller its tremendously frightening impact.
The most successful play ever staged in Canada, I’ll Be Back Before Midnight has been performed in over 31 countries and was adapted into a major motion picture.
Tickets are available from the box office.
