The central area champion (W7 L0 D1) has called out Bull’s Doncaster fighter Jason Cunningham, who holds the English bantamweight title. Cunningham is injured so Bull has an alternative idea for the Ryan Rhodes-trained fighter.

“Why doesn’t he get in with Josh Wale instead?” asked Bull.

“Josh would fight anybody; he’s the bravest, hardest man I’ve ever come across. Fazeldin called Jason out even though he is facing an (elbow) operation that will keep him out until next year. But Josh would take him on.

“He sells big tickets and we’d have the fight in Doncaster or Sheffield - Fazeldin’s choice.

“We’ve mentioned it to Dennis Hobson (Fazeldin’s promoter)- but for some reason we’ve not had word back!”

First, Wale has other business.

The Brampton man (19-8-2) takes on Latvia Dmitrijs Gutmans on a six-fight show at Doncaster Dome on Saturday.

Wale who drew with Gavin McDonnell two years ago has been in with the likes of Kid Galahad, James Dickens and Stuart Hall.

Bull is currently modifying Wale’s style, in a similar way he is working with Rotherham’s Lee Appleyard.

“Josh boxed for England was a national amateur champion and you have to be able to box well technically to do that,” he said.

“We are not teaching him anything new, just reminding him of the things he still has.

“We are taking him back a few years and he is now working behind his jab and going in and out rather than being one-dimensional.

“Like Lee, we are reminding him there is an art to boxing - anybody can go in there and throw bombs.”

Bull thinks Saturday’s fight of the night could be Robbie Barrett from Darfield v Adam Kettleborough, of Newark.

Bull says Barrett has designs on going for the English title.

“He is coming on leaps and bounds, is very dedicated and people are intrigued by this fight with Kettleborough.”
