The firm, which already has four stores in Doncaster, has already begun work on the huge new store which is due to open next month.

“We can confirm that a major refurbishment project has got underway at the former Toys R Us property at Lakeside Village, to accommodate an exciting new addition to the centre – one of the UK’s fastest growing variety retailers, B&M.
“We know how excited our customers will be to hear this development – we are too - and we’ll be releasing more information in the weeks to come.

Hide AdThe store will sell groceries, toys and games, health and beauty, homeware, electrical goods, DIY equipment and gifts.
It will also have a garden centre where customers will be able to buy plants, tools and landscaping materials.

The huge former Toys R Us store at Lakeside has been empty since early 2018 after the American-owned retailer went into administration with the loss of more than 2,000 jobs and all its UK stores.
