The park teased CGI-images of what the enclosure will look like this summer to mark World Penguin Day tomorrow, 25th April.
The development is adjacent to Point Lobos, home to the Californian Sea Lions, and will create a major aquatic animal area for visitors to enjoy.
YWP CEO, John Minion, said: “We are very excited about bringing penguins to the park as part of an international conservation programme. They are hugely popular too.“
Construction is already underway and we can’t wait for it to open in the summer months
.“We expect the penguins will become a firm favourite with our visitors as many have requested them at the park, and our staff are also extremely excited to work with them."
The park is famous for its large-scale reserves, including Lion Country, Leopard Heights, and the Land of the Tiger.
Mr Minion added: “More details of this major animal development will be released in due course.“So keep your eyes peeled for updates!”
