Athletics: Clarkson motors to victory in Norton Nine
Scott Hinchcliffe (Penistone Footpath Runners) finished runner-up in the long-running event in a time of 50.41 with Phil Skelton (Steel City Striders) claiming third place in a time of 51.34.
Doncaster Athletic Club’s Lee Milburn, sixth in a time of 53.10, flew the flag for the local clubs.

Hide AdChris Ramsey, 26th in a time of 56.58, was the first Danum Harrier to finish. Club-mate Steve Barber (33rd in 58.06) also finished in the top 50.
Steel City Striders won the men’s team prize.
Faye Banks, 15th overall in a time of 55.04, won the women’s race and she also helped Pontefract to win the team prize.
Doncaster’s Nicola Devine (59.57) was fifth overall in the women’s race.
“Apart from problems with car parking due to the weather, the event went well,” said Mick Collingwood, who is stepping down as race director after over 20 years in the role.
“We set a maximum entry of 600, which we filled, though you always get around ten per cent who don’t run on the day for a variety of reasons and that was the case on Sunday.”
