Askern Sports' Collins lifts KO Cup

Collins raced into a two-frame lead in the best of five final but Law fought back to level proceedings and force the final into a tense deciding frame.

The deciding frame started in tight fashion but while Law struggled for an opening, Collins held his nerve and took control of the frame to win it 54-17 and lift the cup.

League secretary John Mitchell said: “This was an excellent match contested by two very good players who are a credit to their teams and the league.

“It was also the first time that the two finalists were from the same club, well done to both of them.”
