Pupils at Don Valley Academy in Scawthorpe are the latest to be hit as cases of Covid-19 continue to be recorded in schools across the borough.

A letter sent to parents and seen by the Free Press says that the school will remain open for pupils unaffected by the latest case.

It is not clear which year group bubble has been affected.

It is the third school today in Doncaster where pupils have been told to self isolate after a positive case.

Earlier, Rossington St Michael’s CE Primary School and Hatchell Wood Primary School in Bessacarr sent pupils home after positive cases were recorded.

Many of Doncaster's secondary schools have been hit in recent weeks.

Outwood Academy Danum, McAuley, Hall Cross Academy and Ridgewood have all had to send year pupils home to self isolate following positive tests.

Earlier this week, Ridgewood confirmed one of its teachers was self isolating.
