Air ambulance lands and A1(M) closed in both directions after serious crash

A serious crash on the A1 (M) northbound has caused the motorway to be closed.

South Yorkshire Police have closed the motorway in both directions from Junction 36 and Junction 37 following a serious collision.

Officers are on the scene as they investigate the crash that happened on the A1 (M) northbound and motorists in Sheffield could be facing delays.

In a post on Facebook, police urged drivers to ‘please be patient’ as they promised to issue an update with more information soon.
