Principal Sarah Thompson said: “South Axholme Academy are delighted with the examination results obtained last summer which reflect the outstanding efforts of staff, students and their parents.

“It is a pleasure to see students hard work reflected in such high grades. Sixty-six per cent of students at South Axholme gained five or more A*-C grades at GCSE including English and mathematics which is well above the national average.

“Governors are particularly pleased to see the healthy number of students who have, on the back of these grades, remained at the Academy to study A levels; the first time they have been able to do this.

“With exciting times ahead for South Axholme and the Isle Education Trust we are already working hard to improve still further the outcomes for our current young people.”
