The A1(M) near Doncaster has re-opened this afternoon following a collision earlier which caused a seven mile traffic jam.

Drivers were stopped on the northbound carriageway near to junction 35, the intersection with the M18, while emergency workers cleared the wreckage from the carriageway.

Motorists were being warned of delays of nearly and hour and seven miles of congestion, with traffic being diverted.

A National Highways Yorkshire spokesman said: “Delays of over an hour still remain but should start to ease now.”
