A purl of an idea to brighten up Haxey

The art of yarnbombing, also known as guerrilla knitting and kniffiti, is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk. The practice is believed to have originated in America with Texas knitters trying to find a creative way to use their leftover and unfinished knitting projects. The Isle yarnbomber said: “The yarn bomb was created to add a bit of Christmas cheer to Haxey and to create a festive focal point for the children to be intrigued by.” Pictured are staff and children of Haxey Pre-school with the yarnbombing.
