Lorraine (pictured) opened up her Dirtness Grove Farm home to hold a Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, raising £1,109 in the process.

This is the third year she has organised such an event, which included a raffle, auction, beauty stall and clothing sale, and in total has raised £4,000 for the worthy cause. She said: “I am dedicated to it and I like to give something back as Macmillan were very good to me when I had breast cancer. Everyone is very supportive of it.”

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s largest fundraising event for people facing cancer.

The charity’s total cash kitty is not yet known but last year alone it raised £25 million.
